This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information through jacksonforcongress.us and campaign-operated forms, webpages, and services that link to this policy. This policy does not govern websites, platforms, or services operated independently by third parties, even when we link to or embed those services. Information We Collect Information You Provide We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you subscribe to campaign updates, contact the Campaign, sign up to volunteer, register for or attend an event, complete a form, apply for a campaign fellowship or opportunity, submit a question or comment, or make a contribution. This information may include your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, ZIP code, communication preferences, volunteer interests, event information, application information, and the contents of messages you send to us. Contribution Information When you make a contribution, we may receive and maintain information required to process, record, verify, and report that contribution. This may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, occupation, employer, contribution amount, contribution date, payment method, transaction identifier, election designation, and required eligibility certifications. Online contributions may be processed through Donorbox and its payment-processing providers, including Stripe. The Campaign does not receive or store complete payment-card or bank-account credentials when those credentials are processed by a third-party payment provider. Federal law requires the Campaign to maintain contribution records and, in certain circumstances, publicly report contributor information to the Federal Election Commission. Contributions that exceed $200, or that aggregate over $200 from the same contributor during an election cycle, are generally itemized in public campaign-finance reports. The reported information may include the contributor’s name, mailing address, occupation, employer, contribution date, contribution amount, election designation, and election-cycle aggregate. Information Collected Automatically When you visit our website, our hosting, security, form, donation, and technology providers may automatically receive limited technical information, such as Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring webpage, pages visited, approximate location derived from an Internet Protocol address, date and time of access, and website-performance or security information. The website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for security, website functionality, form submission, accessibility, embedded services, donation processing, or basic audience measurement. Sale, Sharing, and Disclosure of Information The Campaign does not sell or rent personal information. The Campaign does not share mobile-number opt-in information or text-message consent records with third parties for those third parties’ independent marketing purposes. We may disclose limited personal information to vendors and service providers that perform work on behalf of the Campaign, including website hosting, security, payment processing, form management, email delivery, communications, event administration, data management, compliance, accounting, and professional services. Minnesota’s privacy law treats targeted advertising, sale of personal data, sensitive data, and related privacy rights as distinct issues, and its broader controller thresholds generally apply at 100,000 consumers or 25,000 consumers with more than 25 percent of revenue from selling personal data. Email Communications You may unsubscribe from campaign marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link included in an email or by contacting us. We may continue to send nonpromotional messages when necessary to respond to you, administer an event or volunteer activity, document a transaction, or comply with legal obligations. Text Messages The Campaign will send recurring campaign text messages only to individuals who have provided the applicable consent. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive campaign text messages is not a condition of making a contribution or receiving information from the Campaign. You may reply STOP to discontinue campaign text messages or HELP for assistance, where those options are available through the Campaign’s texting platform. Cookies and Tracking Choices You may configure your browser to reject or delete certain cookies. Disabling cookies may affect some website functions. The Campaign does not use personal information for cross-site targeted advertising unless that practice is expressly disclosed in this policy and an appropriate opt-out mechanism is provided. Data Retention We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes described in this policy, administer the Campaign, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain appropriate records. Campaign-finance records will be retained for the periods required by federal law. Other supporter, volunteer, applicant, event, and website information will be periodically reviewed and deleted, deidentified, or aggregated when it is no longer reasonably necessary. Certain information cannot be deleted when continued retention is required by campaign-finance, accounting, tax, litigation-preservation, or other legal obligations. Your Privacy Choices You may contact the Campaign to request that we confirm whether we maintain personal information about you, provide access to certain personal information, correct inaccurate personal information, delete personal information that we are not legally required to retain, update your communication preferences, or stop sending campaign marketing communications. We may take reasonable steps to verify that a request is being made by the individual concerned or an authorized representative. We will respond within a reasonable period and, when applicable law establishes a specific deadline, within that deadline. A request to delete information will not require the Campaign to delete contribution records, public campaign-finance reports, transactional records, security records, or other information that must be retained by law. Data Security The Campaign uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Access is limited to campaign personnel, volunteers, contractors, advisers, and service providers who need the information for authorized campaign purposes. The campaign website uses HTTPS/SSL encryption to help protect information submitted through the site while it is transmitted. Online contribution information is processed through Donorbox and its payment-processing providers, including Stripe. Donorbox states that it is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant and SOC 2 Type I and Type II certified. Donorbox also states that it uses Stripe Elements, so financial input fields are handled securely in Stripe’s iframe, and Stripe states that it is certified annually as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. The Campaign does not receive or store complete payment-card or bank-account credentials when those credentials are processed by a third-party payment provider. No website, electronic transmission, payment system, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. The Campaign works to protect personal information and to honor the privacy commitments made in this policy. Children’s Privacy The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The Campaign does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. Please contact us if you believe that a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the website.
